Making Faces, a film by Richard Kegler documenting the lost art of pantographic type making, will be shown at the Museum of Contemporary Craft on October 29 at 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm, with a Q & A session with the filmmaker after each showing. The 45 minute film details the working process of the late Jim Rimmer as he designs and casts Stern, the only type font ever to have been released in both metal and electronic versions simultaneously. The font is a commemoration of our museum’s namesake–the printer and type caster Chris Stern–and is a fundraiser for the C.C. Stern Type Foundry.
Tickets are $8.00 at the door. Doors will open at 6:30 and 8:30 and complimentary refreshments will be served. Please come and bring your friends!
